A technique to enhance bandwidth of microstrip patch antennas using coupled lines was discussed. The coupled line matching technique increases the bandwidth of the patch antenna by more than 2.5 times as copmared to normal edge-fed patch. While increasing the bandwidth, no mismatch was noticed at the centre of the band. This technique provides compact physical dimensions as compared to previous available techniques.
