dc.description.abstract | Concern has been raised about the efficacy of the heat killing of mycobacteria during the isolation of DNA. We demonstrate a method that allows for the efficient killing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis without compromising DNA integrity for subsequent molecular investigation.
