dc.description.abstract | This review covers those aspects which are important in the breeding of Karakul sheep. Obviously, it is not possible to do justice to the vast amount of information reported in the literature. Yet, it emphasizes the importance of and inheritance of colour variation, breeding problems, important traits affecting the price of the product, genetic parameters as well as the influence of certain environmental factors on fur traits. It is therefore an attempt to highlight those aspects which can make an impact on the improvement in Karakul pelt production. | |
