dc.description.abstractPelargonium githagineum E.M. Marais is described as a new species. It is a tuberous species belonging to the section Hoarea (Sweet) DC. In order to ascertain interrelationships within section Hoarea, macromorphological characters, leaf anatomy and pollen morphology of P. githagineum are compared with those of other species in section Hoarea. An illustration and distribution map of the species, as well as an electronmicrograph of the pollen grain are provided.
