dc.description.abstract | One might expect women to differ significantly from men in their economic work behaviour. Also, economically active women might differ from fulltime housewives in their personal and domestic characteristics. These suppositions are confirmed when sample data about white married women in Cape Town are analysed. The project typifies and compares the work activity patterns of women and men, in order to determine whether any discriminatory practices are present, and identifies personal and domestic variables according to which economically active women are distinguishable from non-economically active women, in order to estimate whether an individual will enter the labour market. -from English summary | |
