Abstract
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: There is still much confusion concerning the term "closure" and what exactly it entails. Some critics are inclined to regard "closure" as synonymous with "closed", which limits the field of study, while some poststructuralist critics tend to associate closure with finality. I support the viewpoint of critics like Marianna Torgovnick and Barbara Herrnstein Smith, who see the rounding off of a text as one of the most important aspects of closure. Such a view, to a great extent, makes provision for the criticism aimed at closure by deconstructivists such as J. Hillis Miller and D. A. Miller.
So ' beskouing maak voorsiening vir kritiek teen sluiting, soos uitgespreek deurdekonstruktiviste soos J. Hillis Miller en D. A. Miller.
