Thesis (MPhil (Industrial Psychology. Africa Centre for HIV/AIDS Management))--University of Stellenbosch, 2009.
This problem, "Does the working environment that construction workers are exposed to contribute to the high rate of HIV incidences?" is essential in any institution or department dealing with construction work. The objectives of this study was i)To identify the working environment that construction workers are exposed to, ii) To determine whether or not these working environments contributes to the spread of HIV and iii) To develop control measure that can mitigate the spread. The study was carried out in Limpopo Provincial Department of Public Works specifically focusing only on employees working at District cost centre level. A quantitative approach method was used. A simple random sampling method was used wherein each official at all Cost Centres were numbered in a sampling frame and then used random numbers to select the required sample. 241 (two hundred and forty one) employees were selected.en_ZA
