dc.description.abstractENGLISH ABSTRACT: The beam-foil spectrum of singly and doubly ionized neon was investigated at beam energies of 0.3, 0.5 and 1.0 MeV for the identification of transitions as well as the charge states. The techniques of refocussing of the spectrometer through displacement of the exit slit was utilized to obtain spectral line widths of 0.3nm. The energy levels were identified on the basis of the most recent classifications, namely those of Persson [Pe 71] and Persson et al [Pe 91]en_ZA
dc.description.abstractAFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die bundel-foelie spektrum van enkel en dubbel geïoniseerde neon is ondersoek by bundel-energieë van 0.3, 0.5 en 1.0 MeV vir die identifisering van oorgange asook die ladingstoestande. Die tegniek van herfokussering van die spektrometer deur verskuiwing van die uittreespleet is gebruik om spektraallynwydtes van 0.3 nm te verky. Die energievlakke is geïdentifiseer aan die hand van die mees onlangste klassifikasies, naamlik dié van Persson [Pe 71] en Persson et al [Pe 91].af_ZA
