dc.description.abstractHospitals and clinics provide an essential service to the populace, assisting people to overcome a range of ailments. In order to do so physicians are reliant on the tools and inventory they have at their disposal. When stock levels appear frighteningly low or even become depleted, physicians begin to order more than the ideal amount causing overstocking and consequently, wastage. This paper performs a systematic literature review in order to identify the causes for the unsatisfactory inventory management currently experienced in South African healthcare facilities.en_ZA
