dc.description.abstract | ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Free-living hemipterans associated with macadamie were collected over a five year period (1984-1989) in the Levubu area to determine the extent of the kernel feeding Hemipters assemblage. Thirsty five species, representing of the families Pentatomidae, Coreidae, Pyrrhocoridae, Lygaeidae and Tessaratomidae were recorded. The pentatomids constituted 93,1% of the total hemipteran numbers, the coreids 4,3% and the other three families together only 2,6%. The most numerous species was the pentatomid ?Bathycoelia rodhaini Schouteden, which contirbuted 50,2% to the total numbers. Patterns of change in the structure of hemipteran assemblage over time were observed. Patterns during last three seasons were more similar in species composition and dominance pattern than for the first two seasons. | en_ZA |
