dc.description.abstract | The potential advantages of co-operation between traditional and biomedical practitioners in Africa have been acknowledged, and are especially important given the extent of the HIV pandemic. Unfortunately schemes directly engaged in this process are still unusual. We report on an innovative pilot project in the Western Cape province, and describe some of the pitfalls and obstacles, but also some success. This is an extended version of a scientific letter published in the South African Medical Journal of May 2008. | |
