Abstract
Agogics, as the science of accompaniment, involves the accompaniment of man from his birth until his death. Pedagogics, on the other hand, places the child at the center of all considerations. Through the ages, manuals on scientific research have aimed at describing all the possible influences on the child as completely as possible. the main interest of the pedagogue is focused on formative man and particularly on the child and his maturing process. Amidst all positive and negative moulding influences that might affect him during his natural development, the child will periodically find himself in the pedagogic situation as he reaches out for adulthood.
AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die Agogiek as beleidingswetenskap beset die begeleiding van die mens vanaf sy geboorte tot by die sterwensoomblik. In die Pedagogiek is dit by uitnemendheid die kind wat in die fokus van enige besinning geplaas word. Deur die eeue het talle handleidings en wetensskaplike navorsing juis gepoog om alle moontlike inwerkinge op die kind duidelik en volledig te omskryf. Die opvoedkundige stel belang in die mens as wordende wese en wel meer bepaald in die kind se volwassewording. Te midde van al die positief- en negatiefvormende invloede wat die kind op sy pad na sy natuurlike bestemming te beurt val, is die opvoedingsituasie juis die gebeure waarin die kind hom periodiek moet bevind om behoorlik volwasse te word.
