| dc.description.abstract | Within the framework of a research project on “The influence of different contexts of social transformation on Biblical interpretation” the use of Genesis 10-11 in the document “Ras, Volk en Nasie en Volkereverhoudinge in die lig van die Skrif” is examined. This document which was accepted by the Dutch Reformed Church of South Africa in 1974 played an important role in the legitimization of Apartheid described. Thereafter, the use of Genesis 10-11 in RVN is discussed. An analysis of the dominant heuristic keys and interpretative strategies is subsequently made, and the mode of Biblical interpretation in RVN is characterized. | en_ZA |
