dc.description.abstractENGLISH SUMMARY : This study sets out to demonstrate that it is possible to use life skills in the task-based English second language lesson. It also attempts to demonstrate that the use of life skills in the English second language lesson takes the pupils' needs and interests into account so that they become attentive and enthusiastic, and participate freely and willingly, as the usefulness of the material becomes evident to them.en_ZA
