dc.description.abstractUrinary retention in women is uncommon, with a much lower incidence than in men. It may be acute (with suprapubic pain) or chronic (typically painless). Urinary retention in females is frequently transient, with no apparent cause, which makes the management of these patients more challenging.en_ZA
