Abstract
The purpose of this article is to present a quantified overview of the academic teaching of religion in South African universities. It is shown that religion, in particular the subject known as Biblical Studies, is highly popular. At the same time diverse approaches, both formally and materially can be observed and it would appear that adjustment will be necessary in some cases.
