Abstract
In the title compound, {[Zn(C16H16N4O 2)(H2O)4](NO3)2} n, the bidentate ligand (2E)-N,N′-bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)but-2- enediamide coordinates in the axial positions of the octahedral zinc centres to form infinite one-dimensional coordination polymeric chains. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these chains into a three-dimensional framework. © 2005 International Union of Crystallography Printed in Great Britain - all rights reserved.
