Abstract
Maxwell's theory is useful in the design of electric and magnetic machines as well as in high voltage engineering, radio frequency and microwave engineering, and antenna design. In order to effectively use this theory, it is important to know the meaning of the different field vectors in the Maxwell equations. In this regard, the fundamentals of the field vectors E and D, which are associated with electricity, and B and H, which are associated with magnetism, are discussed.
