H ABSTRACT: A vision robot, with comparable characteristics currently being used, was designed and built. The response of the robot is evaluated in terms of the lighting conditions it is subjected to, treated as a transfer function with a visual display as input and a decision made as output. The sensitivity for luminance, contrast and detail of the display are given. Successful classification of certain displays are accomplished. The limitations of each part of the robot is evaluated and the result of these limitations on the total response of the robot is pointed out.en_ZA
