Abstract
The paper describes the development of a prototype data system for a municipality which records data items by individual lots. The system is designed to use only data with an established use and which can be automatically updated in the normal process of management. Novel lot numbering systems which allow easy agglomeration of data are described. The purpose of the system is to bring together data which at present is kept by different departments, making the data generally available and thus more useful.
