dc.description.abstract | The model underlying the standard parallel-plate polariser design equations is analysed using diffraction theory. It is shown that the usual 45 degree inclination angle yields an elliptically polarised field on axis with approximately 1 dB axial ratio at the design frequency, instead of the desired circular polarisation. | |
