dc.description.abstract | An a posteriori error estimate method, the element residual method (ERM), was investigated, and used to obtain local as well as global error estimates for finite element method (FEM) solutions of static electric field problems. The local error estimates were used to adapt the FEM meshes, leading to improved convergence rates for FEM solutions. | |
