Abstract
This article discusses theoretical approaches to the prevention of alcohol abuse in the workplace. The traditional approach, the ecological approach, the health promotion approach and the coping skills approach to alcohol abuse prevention in the workplace are considered in detail. Knowledge of the different approaches can contribute to more valid programme theories and prevention programmes.
