dc.description.abstract | In this paper I test for a relationship between volume (size) and surface-area-to-volume ratios in red millipedes Centrobolus Cook, 1897. Volume was not related to surface-area-to-volume ratios in males (r=-0.28357370, Z score=-1.27089810, n=22, p>0.05) (y = -0.00002924x + 0.18). Volume was related to surface- area-to-volume ratios in females (r=-0.45767372, Z score=-2.15488552, n=22, p=0.01558534)(y = -0.00002723x + 0.25). Volumes were related to surface-area to volume ratios when males and female data were pooled (r=-0.34995336, Z score=-2.33964141, n=44, p=0.00965111) (y = -0.00002342x + 0.19). | en_ZA |
