ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Lupus myocarditis is a rare but serious manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Through this dissertation I have aimed to describe the outcome of both clinical as well as subclinical myocardial injury in SLE. I have also aimed to define the diagnostic characteristics of myocardial injury, identified by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging with regards to clinical, echocardiographic and cytokine profiles.
