Although a number of studies into the reasons for merger failure point to cultural incompatibility as a major cause, little attention has thus far been given to the knowledge loss that occurs consequent to company mergers. Drawing on literature around knowledge, knowledge loss, reasons for mergers and acquisitions, organisational culture and merger failure, this case study examines the potential for knowledge loss in a company in the South African IT sector.en_ZA
