Abstract
The heightened importance of employing sound staffing management practices stems from the social, economic and political demands of our time. It is clear that large scale involvement is necessary for the development and establishment of a contented workforce in agriculture. Agricultural schools could play a substantial part in this regard. The employment of healthy staffing management practices in agricultural schools would not only benefit agriculture as a whole, but would also provide the pupils with the guidance they need as future farmers.
AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die toenemende belangrikheid van die toepassing van gesonde personeelbestuurspraktyke in die landbou spruit voort uit die sosiale, ekonomiese en politieke eise van die tyd. Dit is duidelik dat grootskaalse betrokkenheid nodig is vir die ontwikkeling en daarstelling van 'n gelukkige werkerskorps in die landbou. Lanbouskole kan 'n wesenlike bydrae in die verband maak. Die toepassing van goeie personeelbestuurspraktyke by landbouskole behoort nie slegs tot voordeel van die landbou in die algemeen te strek nie, maar ook as leiding vir leerlinge, as voornemende boere, te dien.
