ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The objective of this study is to develop an effective employee value creation philosophy that will enable organisations to envision greatness and transform from good to great. An effective employee value creation philosophy enables transforming organisations to position intellectual capital at the heart of the organisation in order to create a competitive advantage and long~term sustainabilily. A step-by-step design blueprint for developing a generic employee value creation philosophy, while illustrating the contextual application thereof within the transformational context of a business organisation called ppe Cement, is provided . This step-by-step approach involves an examination of the case for change within an organisation in order to develop an employee value creation philosophy that drives the desired future state of that organisation. The process starts with the design and deployment of the visioning alignment process and then the required supporting systems. Done effectively, this creates a strategic framework for repositioning the role of the Human Resources (HR) function to support the employee value creation philosophy. Finally, the development and deployment of organisational learning that is focused on the organisation's leadership, culture and core capability, are the step that will take the organisation from good to great over time. The design of an effective employee value creation philosophy is a holistic, integrated and sequential process that establishes the strategic role of people in an organisation while enabling the HR function to deliver as a strategic value adding business partner.

AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die doel van hierdie studie is om 'n doeltreffende werknemerwaardeskeppingsfilosofie t8 ontwikkel wat organisasies in staat stel om 'n visie van grootsheid voar die gees te reap en om organisasies te transformeer van goed na groats. 'n Doeltreffende werknemerwaardeskeppings- filosofie stel transformerende organisasies in staat om intellektuele kapitaal sentraal t8 plaas in die organisasie en sodoende 'n mededingende voordeel en langtermynvolhoubaarheid te skep. Die daarstelling van 'n stapsgewyse bloudruk om 'n werknemerwaardeskeppingsfilosofie te ontwikkel wat terselfdertyd die generiese kontekstuele toepassing daarvan teen die transformasie-agtergrond van 'n maatskappy, naamlik ppe Cement, voorsien. Hierdie stelselmatige benadering behels 'n ondersoek van die saak vir verandering binne 'n organisasie om sodoende 'n werknemerwaardeskeppingsfilosofie te ontwikkel wat die ideale toekomstige organisasie sal aandryf. Die proses begin met die ontwerp en ontplooiing van die visiebelyningsproses wat dan opgevolg word met die nodige ondersteuningstelsels. Indien dit suksesvol gedoen word, ontwikkel dit 'n strategiese raamwerk vir die herposisionering van die Menslike Hulpbronne-funksie om die werknemerwaardeskeppingsfilosofie te ondersteun. Uiteindelik is die ontwikkeling en uitrol van organisatoriese leer wat op die organisasie se leierskap, kultuur en kernvaardighede gefokus is, die stap wat mettertyd die organisasie van goed na groots sal neem. 'n Doeltreffende werknemerwaardeskeppingsfilosofie is 'n holistiese, ge-rntegreerde en stapsgewyse proses wat die strategiese ral van mense in die organisasie beklemtoon en terselfdertyd vir die Menslike Hulpbronne-funksie 'n geleentheid skep om as strategiese sakevennoot 'n bydrae te lewer.
