Abstract
The gain hemispherical radiation pattern, and axial ratio of the Archimedes spiral antenna can be predicted using thin wire moment method which is studied in this paper. The method can predict without backing, with acceptable accuracy, despite the approximate 5% shift. The input impedance predictions are inaccurate but show expected behavior. The numerical method is a useful tool, which complements experimental methods, for the design and analysis of thin wire spiral antennas.
