Measurement of EMI in PLC circuits

Botha Melanie ; Burger Arthur A. (1998)

Many high power switching devices generate high frequency noise when operating. This noise falls well into the Power Line Carrier (PLC) frequency range. Thus it may have a degrading influence on the PLC signal integrity and reliability. Some measurements were undertaken to determine the extent of electromagnetic noise pollution in the PLC circuits; this paper contains a summary of some of the more important aspects to keep in mind when doing such measurements.
