High speed high voltage PIN diode driver

van Niekerk C. ; van der Walt P.W. (1998)

The development of a high power four-port PIN diode T/R switch is discussed. The switch makes use of a novel PIN diode driver circuit that achieves high switching speeds while keeping the power dissipation in the driver transistors low. The system has a low insertion loss, is well matched and provides a large amount of isolation between the transmitter and the receiver.
