Abstract
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Given the reality of the ravages of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Africa, the local church cannot remain silent and inactive. Lerato's Hope is a local, urban, church based approach to addressing the HIV/AIDS related needs of the surrounding communities in a sustainable and meaningful way, using church based organizations and volunteers. The story of Lerato's Hope is one that every church could and should seek to replicate in its response to the pandemic.
